When I was a small boy, my grandfather gave me a sailor's cap for my birthday. It kindled in me a lifelong love for things nautical.
I still own the steamer trunk that was used by my Grandfather in his travels. His stories of adventures on the high seas grew in my imagination but it was the
trunk that contained the seafaring memories for me later on in life.
Now, as the late afternoon sunlight streams through the dust particles of stale attic air, my thoughts on the magic of being young remain in the afterglow.
